At hope's end....
Jesus loves you. Believe this because it is true.
You cannot stop God from loving you. Do not give up hope.
Do not think you are at the end of the road. That is a good place to be because God will meet you at hope's end.
The first time the Syrophenician spoke to Jesus and called to Him, He answered her not a word. And many times that happens when we are praying and seems like there is not a word, no reply.
Did you ever pray and it seemed like God did not answer? Did you ever go to church and heard message after message but you did not seem to get what you thought you needed? Sometimes it just seems like God does not answer. But, I guarantee you, He hears you.
She went into the house and it looked like she was going to be scared away. Most of you know the story that when she realized that she was about to be sent away, she went over to Jesus and got down on her knees. The Bible teaches that she worshipped Him. (Matthew 15: 21-28) And, my friend, you do not worship anything less than God. Right there in front of all of them, He was good enough to be her God and she worshipped Him. And He looked into her eyes, no doubt, and said, "It's not meat to take the children's bread and cast it to dogs."
She said, "Truth Lord, yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table." What she was really saying is, "I don't deserve the loaf; I'm sure. Go ahead and give it to your children, but when you get through feeding your children remember your dog is under the table. Cause you may call me a dog, but I'm your dog." She said that even the dogs get to eat the scraps from the master table.
He looked at her and He said, "O,woman, great is thy faith."
Right then and there, her faith in Him caused the change to come in her life and her standing with God, and her spirituality changed. She was no longer just a Syrophenician Gentile woman. Her faith in God caused her to be transformed and changed into a spiritual Jew. And that made it possible for Jesus to give her the whole loaf. She did not leave with the crumbs; she had the whole loaf. Do you know why she got the miracle? Because, she went to the only person that could meet her at hope's end.
